Micro Improvements Make Massive Changes

The idea of making epic changes in your life can feel daunting.

But just like an airplane that can end up thousands of miles from it’s destination by ignoring being one degree off course, we can get ourselves right where we want to be by paying attention to the smallest thing that may make the big difference.

When you want to make big changes in life, go small. Wait. What?

That’s right. Go small.

Normally we hear phrases like ‘go big or go home’, or ‘come strong or don’t come at all’. But the secret to making big improvements in your life may actually be counter-intuitive.

To make massive changes, make micro adjustments.

A one percent improvement every day seems small, but will actually bring very significant gains.

Here’s a practical example: If you took $100 and added a dollar to that every day for a year, at the end of the year you’d have $465.

On the other hand, if you added 1% of the money you have every day, at the end of the year you’d have $3740.93.

That’s a huge difference!

So when you focus on small improvements every day and those improvements can stack on each other and you are growing exponentially, you will see massive improvement over time.

And it’s easier to actually do.

Sometimes, the thought of making a huge change is daunting enough to keep us procrastinating and never taking action.

But if you can find something small, and just get started and be consistent – because it’s easy and there’s a low amount of friction – then the change over time will amaze you.

Find something small. Get started. Do it every day. Look back after a while see the magic.
